Reservation

Guest Reservation is one of the important key points of front office.

All requests for room reservation are received & processed this section for systematic arrival of guests without any confusion. Hotel reservation comes through various media, such website, telephone, letter, fax, E-mail, Telegrams, cables. Reservation may comes from different sources. Reception

The work is usually perform in a waiting area such as a lobby or front office desk of an organization or business. The title receptionist is attributed to the person who is employed by an organisation to receive or greet any visitor, patients , clients and answer telephone calls.

Importance :-

2. Handle guest complaint.

3. Provide information to guest.



Bell Desk

Bell desk is an extended arm of front desk. There are many activities at the time arrival during stay and at the time of departure of guest which can't be carried out from the front desk but are to be carried out essentially, in order to provide service to the guest.

Importance :-

1. Handle of guest luggage is done at various occasion such as arrival, during stay & check-out.

2. Bell disk is responsible for paying a guest. The paging is a system located the guest in a hotel.



Concierge

In hotels or resorts, a concierge assist guest by performing various task such as making restaurant reservation, booking hotels, arranging for spa services, recommending night life hot spot, booking transportation (air planes, taxi, boats, etc.)

Importance :-

1. Communication with the customer is often the first responsibility of concierge.

2. The concierge also provide all the information that guest need to enjoy their stay.

3. The concierge may handle booking for special shows for guests.



Lobby

A hall or waiting room at and near the entrance of a building such as a hotel.

Importance : -

1. We con do meeting lobby.

2. Put table and chair in lobby for arrival guest.



Telephone 

The use of telephone has come a long way & company have a wider choice as to how they use this system to communicate with their customer

Importance :- 

1. To listen the guest order & complaints.

2. To wish (Birthday & Anniversary) those old guest who stayed in hotel.

3. For the time of guest reservation.



Cashier

The front office cashier is the nerve centre for all guest billing. It is the centralised point where individual guest expenditure are accounted for and realised at the time of guest check-out.

Importance :–

1. Control safety deposit locker.

2. Balance the cash & close the shift.

3. Operate the accounting software system.

4. Maintain Cash book for shift transaction.



Bell Attendants/Bell Hops/Porter/Bell Boys

Mainly responsible for luggage handling between the lobby and guest rooms during the arrival and departure of the guests. Also responsible for arranging postage and courier of mails and other documents and left luggage room. They escort guests to their rooms and familiarize them with hotel facilities, safety features, as well as in-room facilities. The bell desk is located very close to the main entrance of the hotel. This section is headed by bell captain.



Door Attendants/Doorman 

Ensure opening the door of the hotel, baggage service and traffic control at hotel entrance.



Valet Parking Attendants 

Ensure parking services for guest's vehicles.



Transportation Personnel 

Ensure transportation services for guests from and to the hotel.
