Classification of Hotel
Classification :- 1. Size : - Hotels are grouped into the following types on the basis of number of guest rooms . Small Hotels with 25 rooms or less are classified as small hotels. Medium Hotels with 26 to 100 rooms are in medium hotels. Large Hotels with up to 300 guest rooms but not less than 100 rooms. Very large with more than 300 rooms or less than 1000 rooms. Mega Hotel with up to 1000 rooms. 2. Location :- Hotels may be situated in the city center, suburban areas, near airports, at hill station on beaches. They are classified into the following types on the basis of location. Downtown Hotel is one which is located in the centre of the city or within a short distance from the business centre, shopping areas, theatres etc. Suburban Hotel are set in suburban areas & offer the advantage of quieter surroundings, although they provide the same type of service as downtown hotels.
